Pool equipment install & replace in Berwick & the City of Casey.
Variable-speed pumps, cartridge filters, heat pumps, salt and mineral chlorinators, automation, robotic cleaners. Install on new builds, swap on existing pools, or upgrade old single-speed equipment that’s costing you in power and chemicals. We’re manufacturer-independent and tell you the truth about which gear actually performs.
Pool equipment we install.
Variable-speed pumps ($1,500–$2,800 installed).
The single best equipment upgrade for any existing pool. A variable-speed (VSD) pump running on low speed 18 hours a day uses about a quarter of the electricity of an old single-speed pump running 8 hours, while delivering better filtration. Annual saving: $700–$1,000. Payback: ~18 months. We install Astralpool, Pentair, Davey and Onga VSDs — brand-agnostic, we’ll recommend based on your existing plumbing and pool size.
Filters — cartridge vs media ($1,200–$2,400 installed).
Cartridge filters filter 10–15 micron, waste no water on backwashing, replace cartridges every 2–4 years. The right answer for 90% of Casey pools. Sand or glass-media filters filter 30–40 micron, backwash to a drain (200–400L per cycle), media lasts 5–7 years. Cheaper upfront but the water waste accumulates. Best for very high-use pools (10+ swimmers daily).
Heat pumps ($4,000–$6,500 installed).
Extends a standard Berwick or Cranbourne pool’s swim season from three months (Dec–Mar) to six months (Sep–May). Running cost $40–$80/week to hold 26–28°C in shoulder seasons, much lower with a thermal blanket. We install Madimack, Astralpool, Evoheat and Pentair heat pumps. Sizing matters — a 13kW unit suits a 6–8m pool; a 17–21kW unit for a 9–10m pool; a 9kW unit for plunge pools. Install includes a dedicated circuit breaker and a concrete equipment slab.
Salt chlorinators & mineral systems ($1,400–$2,800 installed).
Salt chlorinators are the Aussie default — cell generates chlorine on demand from 3,500–5,000 ppm salt water. We install Astralpool VX series, Davey ChloroMatic, Pentair IntelliChlor. Cell life 5–7 years in Casey climate. Mineral systems (Naked Pools, Magnapool, Aquatherepe) use magnesium and potassium — kinder on skin, kinder on plants near the pool. Slightly higher upfront but lower ongoing skin-irritation risk for families with sensitive kids.
Automation ($2,500–$4,500 retrofitted).
Astralpool Connect 10, Pentair IntelliCenter, Davey ChloroMatic smart controllers. Phone-app control of pump speed, chlorinator output, heater, lights and a robotic cleaner. Schedule the pool to run when off-peak power is cheap, get alerts if water level drops (leak warning), turn the heater on from work. Retrofittable to most existing pools — sometimes needs a pump or chlorinator upgrade to be fully compatible. We assess what’s reusable at the site visit.
Robotic cleaners ($1,800–$3,800).
Maytronics Dolphin (M400, M500, M600), Hayward TigerShark, Pentair Prowler. Independent of the pool’s plumbing — plug into a dedicated robot circuit, drop in, it does the floor and walls in 2–3 hours. Worth more than a manual vacuum or a suction-side cleaner if you value your weekends.
Plumbing & controls upgrades.
Sometimes the equipment is fine but the surrounding pipework is the bottleneck — old 40mm rigid PVC instead of 50mm, undersized unions cracking under VSD vibration, missing isolation valves making servicing painful. We assess and upgrade where it makes sense. New equipment slab if the old one is cracked or undersized: $1,200–$2,500.
